Cabot’s Timber Finishes are the leading wood-care products in Australia. Cabot’s approached icon.inc to assist with the re-design and development of a new website, so that it functions as an informative product selection tool for consumers with both interior and exterior DIY projects.
Icon conducted extensive stakeholder engagement in order to understand the requirements of the business divisions within the Cabot’s brand. The approach we took was to design the website with simple, interactive and logical functions that spring from the consumer’s point-of-view.
The final result is an engaging, online tool that guides and educates consumers, allowing them to confidently problem-solve their DIY projects and efficiently purchase the products they need.
An interesting crowd sourcing promotion from the beer brewer Becks, who are commissioning artists working in the virtual/augmented field to submit works for their "Green Box Project". More via psfk.

Jul 2011A new campaign site for Diabetes Australia
Diabetes Australia is one of our Canberra based clients and we designed their latest campaign for Gestational Diabetes within a two-week timeframe to launch with an event.
Part of our brief was to design a logo, branding exercise and design of the look and feel of the website. We didn’t have control over the wireframe and information architecture of the site as it had to comply with the overall template requirements of their global Diabetes site.
The feedback has been very positive, and the team did well considering the restrictions and the turn-around time!

Icon.Inc is a proud sponsor and media partner of the Splendid Arts Lab. Now in its third year, Splendid "Supports the next generation of artists to interact with festival culture", with selected artists developing and exhibiting works at Splendour in the Grass. We've overhauled this year's web and e-news designs, and just love that snappy cyan highlight. The 2011 Call-out is now open, so if you're under 30 or in the first five years of your art practice, apply before 2 May, 2011.
